Analytics
Explore your live Mondoo security data with built-in reports, configurable pivot tables, and custom reports. Export pages as PNG, decks as PowerPoint, and tables as data files.
Analytics is the self-serve reporting workspace in the Mondoo Console. It renders reports from your live security data: vulnerability trends, compliance posture, asset inventory, and exposure metrics across all your spaces. Open Reporting > Analytics in the organization navigation to see every report available to you.
Analytics is available to organizations with the Mondoo BI integration, where it appears under Reporting for members whose role can view dashboards. If your organization doesn't have the integration yet, contact your customer success manager or open a support case. Without it, Analytics is hidden from the navigation, and opening its URL directly shows an "Analytics isn't set up for this organization" message.
Analytics or Executive Reports?
Both live under Reporting, and they answer different questions:
- Executive Reports is the board deck. It tells the story of your vulnerability management program: trajectory, velocity, and ROI, in a fixed set of narrative slides.
- Analytics is the workbench behind that story. It's where analysts and program owners explore the underlying data: slice it by space and severity, configure pivot tables, track month-over-month counts, and build reports of their own.
If you present to leadership, start with Executive Reports. If you need to answer a specific question about your data, start with Analytics.
Built-in reports
Analytics ships with seven built-in reports. Each renders on demand from your live data:
| Report | What it answers |
|---|---|
| Security Overview | Vulnerability scores, SLA compliance, MTTR, package impact, and compliance posture across all spaces |
| Vulnerability Overview | CVE severity breakdown, affected assets, top vulnerabilities, and CVSS score analysis across your fleet |
| Asset Inventory & Risk | Platform inventory, version distribution for EOL tracking, and a risk-ranked asset list |
| Security Posture | Check pass/fail rates, compliance scores, failing checks, and package vulnerability breakdown |
| Compliance Controls | Framework compliance tracking with control-level scores, scope breakdown, and lowest-scoring controls |
| Package Vulnerabilities | Vulnerable package analysis with severity breakdown, most affected packages, and patch prioritization |
| EPSS Risk Prioritization | Exploit prediction scoring to prioritize the vulnerabilities most likely to be exploited in the wild |
Built-in reports are read-only. To customize one, select Duplicate to Edit and change your copy. To learn more, read Build a Custom Report.
Read a report
A report is a deck: a sequence of pages, each holding one or more visualizations. Use the dot navigation at the right edge to jump between pages, or select Deck preview to see each page framed as a presentation slide.
Some tables are interactive pivot tables. Choose your own row groups, column groups, and metrics to reshape the data without editing the report.
Export
Every report exports the same way, whether built-in or custom:
- Copy PNG copies the current page to your clipboard as an image, ready to paste into Slack, email, or a document.
- PPT downloads the entire report as a PowerPoint deck, one slide per page.
- Export on a table downloads that table's data.
For continuous delivery of raw data to a warehouse or dashboard tool, use continuous data exports instead.
Coming from Mondoo BI
Analytics succeeds the hosted Mondoo BI service. The same live data now powers reports directly in the console, with no separate login, and adds per-page image export, PowerPoint decks, and custom report building. If your team relied on a hosted BI dashboard you can't recreate in Analytics, contact your customer success manager or open a support case.
