Busybox is a single binary which includes versions of a large number of system commands, including a shell. This package can be very useful for recovering from certain types of system failures,particularly those involving broken shared libraries.

Security Fix(es):

A flaw was found in BusyBox. Incomplete path sanitization in its archive extraction utilities allows an attacker to craft malicious archives that when extracted, and under specific conditions, may write to files outside the intended directory. This can lead to arbitrary file overwrite, potentially enabling code execution through the modification of sensitive system files.(CVE-2026-26157)

A flaw was found in BusyBox. This vulnerability allows an attacker to modify files outside of the intended extraction directory by crafting a malicious tar archive containing unvalidated hardlink or symlink entries.
